Majed Najm started his career at SABB in 1992 and has diverse experience in leading banking and investment businesses. He has held a number of leadership positions within the SABB and HSBC Group. Some of these positions included Deputy Managing Director Corporate & Institutional Banking, SABB; Chief Executive Officer and Board Member, HSBC Saudi Arabia; General Manager Retail Banking and Wealth Management, SABB; and Head of International, HSBC Middle East (Dubai) and Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Bahrain.
Majed is also a member of the Board of Directors of HSBC Middle East Holdings BV and HSBC Middle East Limited.
Majed received his Bachelor's degree in Management from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals.
Faris AlGhannam is currently Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of HSBC Saudi Arabia and a member of HSBC Middle East, North Africa and Turkey Executive Committee. Prior to this, Faris was leading the investment banking, capital markets and issuers services business and operations for HSBC in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Before joining HSBC, Faris worked for several years at another banking institution in London, the United Kingdom covering capital markets in the UK and EMEA.
Faris is also an Independent Director of Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in MENA region as well as an Independent Director of the Board of a leading consumers company in the Kingdom. Faris is a member of the Finance Program Board for College of Business Administration, Prince Sultan University.
Faris holds an MBA from the Jones School of Business at Rice University and a BSc in Accounting from Prince Sultan University (first honors).
Stephen was appointed to the Board of HSBC Saudi Arabia in June 2021 as Deputy Chairman.
Stephen Moss is Regional Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.
Mr Moss was appointed to the role of Regional Chief Executive Officer in April 2021 and has been a Group Managing Director since December 2018.
Mr Moss started his career with HSBC in 1992 and has held a series of roles in Hong Kong and the UK. Most recently, Mr Moss was the Regional Chief Executive with responsibility for overseeing the bank's businesses in Europe (ex-HBUK), the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey; Latin America; and Canada, a role he held from March 2020. Prior to this, Mr Moss held the role of Chief of Staff to the Group Chief Executive leading Group Strategy and Planning, Group Mergers and Acquisitions, Global Communications, Global Events, Group Public Affairs and Group Corporate Sustainability.
Prior to joining HSBC, Mr Moss worked for Price Waterhouse.
Mr Moss currently sits on the boards of HSBC Middle East Holdings B.V., HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, HSBC Saudi Arabia, and the Saudi British Bank. Mr Moss serves as an Advisory Board Member of the Hong Kong Red Cross.
Mr Moss is a qualified Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Mr. Khalid Al-Buainain was appointed to the Board of HSBC Saudi Arabia in January 2019 as Independent, Non-Executive Director.
He has proven management expertise and brings a wealth of experience. He has held a number of senior managerial roles in different companies inside and outside of Saudi Arabia including a number of key positions with Saudi Aramco during the period from 1980 to 2015 as Senior Vice President for the Technical Services Business line, Senior Vice President for Engineering, Capital, and Operations Support, Senior Vice President for Downstream Business Line and Senior Vice President for Engineering Services. In addition, he had assumed board memberships in renowned companies inside and outside of Saudi Arabia as well as participating in their sub-committees. He is also a graduate of Harvard Business School Executive Program.
He received his Bachelor’s degree from King Fahd University for Petroleum & Minerals in 1980.
H.E. Eng. Saad Abdulaziz Alkhalb was appointed to the Board of HSBC Saudi Arabia in July 2019 as an Independent, Non-Executive Director.
He has proven management expertise and brings a wealth of experience. He is the President of the Saudi Ports Authority and has assumed the role of Vice Minister at the Transport Ministry. In addition, he has held a number of key positions in the Saudi British Bank and a number of senior managerial roles in different companies inside and outside of Saudi Arabia.
He graduated in 1992 and holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals and has attended advanced management and strategic program from INSEAD.
Abdulhameed AlMuhaideb was appointed to the Board of HSBC Saudi Arabia in March 2020 as Independent Non-Executive Director. He has more than 15 years’ experience in corporate and finance industry.
Abdulhameed is working with ACWA Power since 2009 and currently appointed as the Executive Director for Portfolio Management He is managing the world’s largest Concentrated Solar Power project (Noor Energy) as CEO for the last two years. Prior to that, Abdulhameed served as CEO of Shuaa Energy IPP (200MW PV project). He also served as a Board Member in couple of ACWA Power project companies, including Bowarege IWP, Shuqaiq IWPP and ACWA Power O&M arm NOMAC. Abdulhameed was also appointed as member of Audit & Risk Committees of Savola Group. Currently, he is appointed as member of the Risk Committee of SABB.
Abdulhameed completed his Bachelor Degree in Finance from University of Miami, FL. He also holds a master degree (MBA) from Pepperdine University in California.
Anthony was appointed to the Board of HSBC Saudi Arabia in June 2021 as Non-Executive Director.
Anthony is a Board Member and Managing Director of SABB, and has worked in banking for more than 30 years, with management roles in institutional banking, treasury, trading and sales businesses, transaction banking, information technology and operations. He was also appointed as HSBC Group General Manager in 2016, before joining SABB in May 2021.
Gareth’s banking career spans over 30 years with a wealth of experience drawn from several
global and regional leadership roles, with specialisation in debt issuance and infrastructure
finance, risk management, trade and transactional banking products. Gareth has covered
Middle East banking activity throughout his career.
Based in Dubai, Gareth became HSBC’s Chief Risk Officer for MENAT in October 2022. For
the four years prior to this Gareth led HSBC's Global Banking business for MENAT,
responsible for debt and equity capital markets, lending, infrastructure and real estate,
advisory, payments and client coverage of governments, public institutions, banks and large
corporates.
Prior to this Gareth was HSBC's Co-Head of Public Sector Banking, with a global focus on
banking relationships with governments, development banks and other officially-mandated
organisations. Gareth led efforts in the Middle East, Africa, Northern Europe and the Americas
and continues to act as Senior Banker to several governments in the Middle East.
Gareth began his career in 1991 with Barclays Bank. This included a period as its Head of
Corporate Banking for Dubai and Oman, based in Dubai. In 1998 Gareth joined ABN AMRO
where he was promoted to Global Head of Emerging Markets, responsible for all debt
products. Following the acquisition of ABN in 2008, Gareth ran Royal Bank of Scotland’s
debt businesses for the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa and its Export Finance
business globally, before being appointed RBS’ Global Head of Sovereigns & Public Sector.
Gareth joined HSBC in 2012.
Mr. Yasser Albarrak is the Chief Corporate and Institutional Banking Officer since 1 July 2022.
Yasser Al-Barrak was appointed to lead the corporate and institutional banking sector at Saudi Awwal Bank “SAB” (formally Saudi British Bank “SABB”) owing to his expertise and practical experience in the banking industry in the Kingdom spanning more than 18 years. Yasser joined SABB in 2012 and has held many leadership positions, the most recent being General Manager of Global Corporate and Institutional Banking since May 2019, and Co-Head of Global Banking from 2017 to 2019. Served also as Head of the Public Sector from 2013 to 2017.
He graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals with a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems. He is a Board Member of SAB Invest Company.

Mona Al Alwany is the Chief Compliance Officer and was appointed as the Head of Regulatory & Financial Crime Compliance as of 1 January 2021. Mona joined HSBC Saudi Arabia in April 2015.
Mona has strong experience in various banking specialties which she gained by holding several roles in Compliance at HSBC Saudi Arabia, such as senior manager of regulatory compliance, and Assistant Compliance Officer at the Arab National Bank, which she joined initially during 2007.
Mona Holds a bachelor Degree from Umm Al-Qura University. Also, she holds several professional certificates such as International Compliance Association (ICA),International Advanced Certificate in Compliance & Anti Money Laundering, and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).
Abdul Rahman Khan has over 20 years’ experience in the banking and telecommunications sector, spanning Business Strategy, Operations, Transformation and Human Resources. Abdul Rahman is currently the Chief of Staff for HSBC Saudi Arabia.
Abdul Rahman joined HSBC Group in 2003 in India, before moving into more senior roles with HSBC spanning various markets across the Middle East and North Africa region.
Prior to joining HSBC, Abdul Rahman was associated with Tata Group as part of its telecommunications enterprise at which he contributed significantly in growing fixed telephony and limited mobility services across the Indian subcontinent. Abdul Rahman is an alumni of Indian School of Business from where he obtained his Post Graduate Program in Management.
Zarrar Mirza was appointed Head of Legal & Company Secretary of HSBC Saudi Arabia Limited (HSBC SA) in June 2015, having been Senior Legal Counsel since May 2014. He is responsible for all legal matters for the company, and to drive excellence in Corporate Governance to support delivery of HSBC SA strategy to the expectations of the shareholders and the regulators.
Prior to joining HSBC SA, he was Senior Legal Counsel for Banking and Finance at Samba Financial Group, Saudi Arabia for six years. He has also served in private practice with law firms in Manchester, United Kingdom and Pakistan.
Zarrar is Lifetime Member of Punjab Bar Council, Pakistan, Lahore High Court Bar Council, Pakistan. He holds a Master in International Business Law from University of Manchester, United Kingdom.
Madhur Bhandari joined HSBC Saudi Arabia (HSBC SA) in 2014 and has led Securities Services business since then. In his capacity as the Global Head of Public Sector and Country Head Securities Services, he is responsible for leading and developing the Direct Custody and Clearing, Fund Services and Issuer Services business lines.
Prior to his current position in HSBC SA, he has done different roles with HSBC Group in Oman, Bahrain and India.
He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, a Company Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and also holds degrees in Law and Commerce from the Rajasthan University in India.
Amir Bourani leads HSBC Saudi Arabia’s Coverage platform, with over 15 years of Corporate and Investment Banking experience, with primary focus on covering HSBC’s top priority clients in the Kingdom from a Banking, Capital Markets and Corporate Finance perspective.
Previously General Manager of Global Banking in HSBC Bank Oman, Amir led a team of Bankers and oversaw a number of complex Advisory and Debt Financing mandates with the Government and Government related entities.
Amir started his career in HSBC in the UK (2007), where he carried out multiple roles across Coverage, Strategy, and moved on to become a Director in the Leveraged & Acquisition Finance business in London responsible for the origination and execution of Private Equity Leveraged Finance transactions, supporting a variety of European Private Equity firms.
Amir is a BA (Hons) Graduate in Business Administration and Management from the University of Greenwich.
Faisal joined HSBC 20 years ago in its HSBC Amanah business in Dubai and moved to Riyadh to set up HSBC Saudi Arabia as its founding team member in 2006. He is currently a Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets & Structured Finance covering Debt Capital Markets, Leverage & Acquisition Finance, Project Finance and Issuer Services business in Saudi Arabia.
Faisal has led a number of landmark advisory and arranging transactions raising financing from local and international bank and debt capital markets through bonds, loans and sukuks. Faisal also advises clients on designing optimal capital structures and raising limited recourse financing for projects within infrastructure and industrial sectors and through public private partnerships.
Faisal has experience in structuring shariah compliant transactions and is actively involved in supporting clients in their energy transition plans and raising financing in green and sustainable bonds and loan format.
Faisal has an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Institute of Business Administration Karachi.
Raouf joined HSBC in February 2018 and today is in charge of MENAT Equities based out of Riyadh. During his time at HSBC he was responsible of key projects and transactions such as the Saudi inclusion to EM indices, Index and Single Stock Future product launches, developing capital markets and key block trades.
He has over 14 years in Equity Sales and Trading experience. Prior to joining HSBC, Raouf was vice president at Morgan Stanley Saudi Arabia and covered MENA Institutional Sales. Raouf graduated from the Lebanese American university in 2007 and holds a degree in Finance and Marketing.
Mohammed has more than 17 years of investment banking experience serving clients in Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region.
Mohammed leads HSBC’s Investment Banking Advisory business in KSA, where has contributed significantly in originating and executing landmark mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions in Saudi Arabia, and the wider MENAT region. His successful track-record includes leading on some of the most high-profile transactions which have helped in setting precedent in the Saudi market. He has been based out of Saudi and Dubai, as well as serving HSBC clients globally in cross-border situations.
In his work outside of HSBC, sits on the Capital Market Institutions Committee which serves as a focal point between Capital Market Institutions and the CMA.
Mohammed holds a Bachelors in Commerce, majoring in Finance (Hons), from the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University at Montreal, Canada.
Khaza Chistie was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of HSBC Saudi Arabia Limited in August 2016.
Khaza's key tasks include keeping management aware of the new regulations accounting standards and HSBC best practices, providing strategic direction to senior management and ensuring controls are not compromised with expansion but maintained with adequate staff, increased automation and modern tools.
Prior to joining HSBC SA, Khaza worked in Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Saudi Arabia serving as CFO, from 2012 to 2016. Chestie also worked in various roles in HSBC Bank during the period of 1998 & 2012.
Khaza holds a MBA-Finance from Andhra University in India. He also holds professional certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) & Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
Suhaib AlZaid has joined HSBC Saudi Arabia on 1st December 2021 to lead the HR team as Head of Human Resources. Suhaib joins us from AXA Cooperative Insurance where, most recently, he led the HR Team for the AXA business in Saudi Arabia. Suhaib has a wealth of professional HR experience working in HR roles since 2011 across multiple sectors including Manufacturing and Financial Services. Prior to AXA, Suhaib held HR roles at Arab National Bank and Bank Saudi Fransi in Saudi Arabia. He brings a proven commercial, pragmatic, problem-solving mindset to the role – along with a global perspective having worked in multinational firm such as AXA Insurance.
Suhaib holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources, a Bachelor degree in English and CIPD level 5. Additionally he is a certified trainer, certified occupational tester and a certified HR professional
